The Castletown Foundation are delighted to announce that the inaugural Kevin B Nowlan scholarship has been awarded jointly to Mr Kyle Leyden (Courthald Institute) and Laura McKenna (Trinity College Dublin)
Their respective projects are:
Kyle Leyden: “The Epitome of the Kingdom?” The Politics of “Fine Building” and the Fashioning of Irish National Identity, 1719-1782.
Laura McKenna: An analysis of the links between the silk damask wallpaper in Castletown House’s ‘Red Drawing Room’ and similar examples in Italian palazzi.
We look forward to seeing the results of their research.
